Microlife participated at the 36th EDTNA / ERCA International Conference

Widnau, September 20, 2007: Microlife sponsored an educational workshop on Chronic Kidney Disease with a lecture given by Dr. George Stergiou, a leading hypertension specialist, on the different methodologies used to measure blood pressure. The interactive workshop took place at the EDTNA / ERCA congress and was well attended with around 180 specialists.
According to a paper published in the European Renal Disease magazine last month, Microlife’s upper arm monitors are shown to accurately measure blood pressure even in patients with severe arteriosclerosis in End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).
The study was conducted by Professor Pickering of Columbia University, NY and his team. No study to date has validated an oscillometric home BP monitor against mercury sphygmomanometry in an ESRD population. The Microlife BP 3AC1-1PC was found to accurately measure BP in ESRD patients.
Thanks to this, Microlife’s Blood Pressure Monitors and its technologies were very well received by the visitors who consisted mainly of specialist nurses. As a result the nurses have stated that they will have no hesitation in recommending Microlife to their patients.
